Network based Three (3) Phase Monitoring and Control Device

Three-phase electricity monitoring and control is the most important factor to consider in electric power distribution networks and more especially for industrial electric motors and machines that works only with three phase lines. If any of the three phase line fails, the three phase motor winding will draw more current than the other and excess heat will be generated causing deterioration of the motor insulation. This can permanently damage the motor due to phase failure. Phase failure and unbalanced voltage can damage electric motors. They are the two important problems that always effect smooth running of three phase motors after installation. Phase failure can be said to occur when any of the three phase line is being cut off, while unbalanced voltage is when there is a critical over voltage or under voltage in the three phase lines. It is a very big risky for electric motors when they continue to operate in these conditions.
In some cases, overload and phase failure relays are used to protect three phase motors from these ugly situations, by disconnecting the motor from the power line but some components use in this techniques cannot perform fast switching.
Another area where the detection and monitoring of three phase power lines are very necessary is the utility power distribution transformers and poles. When there are problems in street transformers or electric poles which lead to phase failure, people usually accuse the power distribution company and start to change their loads from one phase to another and at the same time overloading the available phase.
ADACC Network based Three Phase Monitoring and Control device can effectively monitor the three phase line and notify the Utility Power Authority of phase imbalance or failure in electric poles or transformers. The device can perform the following:
1.     It assists the power distribution companies to maintain and deliver quality service to their consumers.
2.     If implemented in machines, the system will turn off power to machine during the above mentioned power problems.
3.     It will increase motor life.
4.     It will help to reduce maintenance cost of three phase motors and the risk of electric shock or fire due to the over stressed motor winding.
5.     It can be used for power line cable vandalism detector system

This device can monitor the transformer temperature and oil level or other abnormal conditions.
Engineers are challenged to utilize this concept in different applications to make the world a better place to live. feel free to contact us: Able Designs and Construction Company. abledesigns@yahoo.com. +234-8037909203.

AUTO ROOM TEMP CONTROL SYSTEM WITH DISPLAY

The Auto Room Temperature Control System controls the fan when the room temperature is within the range of 28 to 30 degrees Celsius. Once the temperature decreases the fan automatically  switch OFF and remain in the OFF position till the temperature increase again. The circuit do three things:

  1. To monitor the value of temperature within the set range using LM35 temperature sensor.
  2.  Track the changes in temperature in order to control the fan.
  3. And display the actual room temperature values in degrees Celsius using 16 by 2 LCD.

micro-controller based smart queue management display system

Customer service orientated companies and institutions frequently face the problem of lengthy queues and unpredictable waiting time. This problem is causing tension and stress among both customers and employees and results in efficiency decline. Queue Management has been a problem for many years in many domains including the financial, health care, public and retail sectors. In this project, we present the design and implementation of a micro-controller based smart queue management display system.
A queue is a line of people or things waiting to be handled, usually in sequential order starting at the beginning or top of the line or sequence. In this report, the queue concerns ‘queue monitoring and control’ in regards to human beings. Although, the device can be used for any other applications such as monitoring and controlling vehicles in a fuel refilling station queue, etc. In this project design, the system consists of a sensor switch unit, input push button unit, micro-controller unit, display unit, and power supply unit. The primary aim and objective of this project is to design and construct a portable micro-controller based queue management device to maintain and control queue with order and efficiency.  Our objectives are to develop a queue management system that can be moved among places. By using this system, queue in school ICT department, ATM centers, Banking halls, Hotel reservation counters, School hostels, Ticket counters, Insurance companies, customer service centers, etc can be arranged accordingly. People can wait in a queue and see the remaining or added number of people in the queue  which are being displayed on a big screen.  Email: abledesigns@yahoo.com for more detail of the code and practical implementation.
